Announcements are a notification type like any other. At Settings → Notifications, under General Announcement, each person chooses whether to receive them In-App, by Email, both, or neither.
Worth leaving on for at least one person per teamThis is the channel that carries changes to how the platform behaves — a carrier integration changing, a new setting appearing, a maintenance window.Muted everywhere, the first anyone hears of a change is when something behaves unexpectedly. Somebody who watches configuration should keep it on, even if the rest of the team does not.
