# Sales Channels

> How OTO connects to the storefronts and marketplaces you sell on: orders in, stock and catalog out, and order status and tracking sent back to the customer.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Where to find it:** Main → Integrations → Sales Channels — [Open in OTO ↗](https://app.tryoto.com/sales-channels)

The order is born on the sales channel. Everything OTO does afterwards depends on getting it out of there cleanly — and on putting the answer back where the customer is looking.

## The problem it solves

Almost nobody sells in one place any more. A storefront, then a marketplace, then a second storefront for a different market, then a food-delivery app for the branches. Each one has its own order format, its own status vocabulary, its own idea of what inventory is, and its own admin panel.

Run without integration, that becomes a person with eight browser tabs re-typing orders into a shipping system and then typing the tracking number back. It is slow, it is wrong often enough to matter, and it gets worse with every channel you add — which means the operational cost of a new channel is what stops you opening one.

The point of this module is that adding a channel should be a configuration step, not a project.

## Integration means four streams, not one

“Connected to Shopify” is usually taken to mean orders arrive. That is one of four things that have to move, and the other three are where integrations normally fall short.

| Stream | Direction | What it carries |
| - | - | - |
| **Orders** | Channel → OTO | New orders, in real time, with customer, address, items and payment method. See [Order sync](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/omnichannel-oms/order-sync.md). |
| **Inventory** | OTO → Channel | Stock levels, per hub where the channel supports locations. See [Inventory sync](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/inventory-management/inventory-sync.md). |
| **Catalog** | Channel ↔ OTO | Products, SKUs and categories, so both systems mean the same thing by a SKU. See [Product configuration](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/inventory-management/product-configuration.md). |
| **Status and tracking** | OTO → Channel | Fulfillment progress and the tracking link, written back into the channel’s own order record. |

> [!TIP]
>
> **The return leg is the one that pays for itself**
>
> Orders flowing in saves your operations team time. Status and tracking flowing back saves your *support* team time, because “where is my order” is answered by the customer looking at the store they bought from.
>
> Integrations that only pull orders leave the customer with an order that says **Processing** for a week, and a support queue that grows in proportion to sales.

## What you can connect to

The channel catalog carries **more than 40** prebuilt integrations, and they are not all the same kind of thing.

| Kind | Examples | Why it is here |
| - | - | - |
| **Global storefront platforms** | Shopify · Adobe Commerce · WooCommerce · BigCommerce · PrestaShop · OpenCart · Sylius | The platforms an international brand is already on. |
| **Regional storefront platforms** | Salla · Zid · Makane · Matjrah · Shahbandr · Rouwaj · 3S Cart · Ikas · T-Soft | What merchants in the Gulf and Türkiye actually build on — and what a global shipping platform usually does not support. |
| **Marketplaces** | Amazon · Noon · Jumia · Trendyol · Trendyol International | Marketplace orders arrive on the same rails as your own storefront’s. |
| **Food and restaurant** | Jahez · Foodics · Fooder | Branch-fulfilled orders with short promises. See [Hubs Management](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/hubs-management/overview.md). |
| **Automation and business systems** | Zapier · Zoho | Reaches the systems with no direct connector, without writing code. |
| **Custom** | **OTO API** | Your own storefront, connected through the same mechanism as everything else. See [Checkout API](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/sales-channels/checkout-api.md). |

> [!NOTE]
>
> **Regional depth is the unusual part**
>
> Every shipping platform integrates with Shopify. The list above also covers the platforms a Riyadh or Istanbul merchant is more likely to be running — which is the difference between an integration project and a fifteen-minute install.

## Where it lives

| Screen | Path | What it holds |
| - | - | - |
| **All Channels** | **Integrations → Sales Channels** | The catalog. Search it, then **Explore Channel**. |
| **Connected Channels** | **Integrations → Sales Channels** | What you have connected, each with a status badge, an enable switch and a settings menu. |
| **System Logs** | **Settings → System Logs** | Inventory Sync Logs and Product Sync Logs — where a sync failure is diagnosed. |

## Who runs it

| Role | What they do here |
| - | - |
| **E-commerce manager** | Decides which channels to open and what the customer sees on each. |
| **Operations** | Lives with the consequences: one queue, whatever the order came from. |
| **Developers** | Connect the storefront that has no connector, and put live shipping options on the checkout. |
