# Carrier integrations

> Ship on OTO rates with 15+ carriers or on your own contracts with 460+, connect each one in two steps, and compare service types and your own drivers.

**460+** carrier integrations worldwide for your own contracts, and **15+** carriers on OTO rates. All of them connect from a catalog. OTO is software and does not carry parcels — it connects you to the companies that do.

## Two ways to ship

| Model | What it means |
| - | - |
| **Your own rates** | You hold the contract with the carrier and enter its credentials. OTO books against your account, at your negotiated prices. Any of the 460+ carriers can be connected this way. |
| **OTO rates** | You ship on OTO's contracts with 15+ carriers without negotiating your own — useful at low volume, in a new market, or for a service you rarely need. |

Both can run on one account, and [automation](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/shipping-management/shipping-automation.md) chooses between everything available.

## Connecting one

**Integrations → Shipping Partners** has two tabs — the catalog and what you have connected. Filter by **Country** and **Service Type**, then open a carrier.

> [!NOTE]
>
> **A carrier is not one integration — it is several services**
>
> Opening a carrier does not connect it. It lists that carrier's **services**, each connected separately: Aramex alone offers domestic, international, heavy and bulky, PUDO, same-day and banking.
>
> This matters because a service is what a shipping rule selects. Connecting “Aramex” without connecting *Aramex Same Day* leaves a rule that references same-day with nothing to choose.

Connection is two steps: **Credentials**, then **Settings**. The full walkthrough is in [Carrier integration](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/shipping-management/carrier-integration.md).

## Service types

Carriers are classified by what they actually do, and rules and the [checkout API](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/sales-channels/checkout-api.md) both filter on it: **Express** · **Same Day** · **Regular** · **Fast Delivery** · **Cold Delivery** · **Heavy & Bulky** · **Locker Delivery** · **PUDO (pick up drop off)** · **International**.

> [!TIP]
>
> **The in-product count is smaller than 460, and that is expected**
>
> The catalog filters to the partners available where you operate. A merchant in one country sees that country's carriers, not the global list.
>
> The global figure is what the platform integrates with; the number on your screen is what you can connect today.

## Your own drivers

[OTO FLEX](https://docs.tryoto.com/modules/oto-flex/overview.md) puts your own fleet into the same selection. A rule that weighs carriers weighs your drivers too, on the same terms — which is the point of not being a carrier: nothing in the routing has a reason to prefer one option over another except cost, coverage and performance.
